Accompanying on a Trial Basis: An Unexpected Social Interaction
I recently received a private message that caught me off guard. A girl asked me if I'd be willing to 'try accompanying' her, and proposed a profit-sharing scheme that left me speechless - 40% for her, 60% for me. I thought to myself, what kind of weird proposal is this? So I decided to see what she looked like first.
I replied, 'Can I see your photos first?' I was expecting her to send over a beautiful selfie, but instead, she sent two photos. Oh my god, these two photos were so bad that even the most aggressive beauty filters couldn't save them - she looked like a century-old granny! At that moment, I felt like I was looking at a textbook example of how not to interact socially.
I don't know what she had in mind when she said 'accompanying on a trial basis,' but I'm certain that her photos were not the way to go. Maybe she thought this would grab my attention, but it had the opposite effect. This weird proposal made me want to laugh, but at the same time, it also made me feel a little sad. Why do people think this kind of approach would work?
I decided not to respond to her anymore, to avoid leading her on. There are just too many weird people and things in this world.
