Quitting a State-Owned Enterprise to Sell on Idle Fish: Crazy or Genius?
Last night, I had drinks with a friend and found out that his friend, who had worked at a state-owned enterprise for 14 years, had quit his job. After a few rounds of drinks, he finally opened up and told me that he was going to sell on Idle Fish full-time! I was truly surprised that he would give up such a stable job to start a business that seemed so unreliable.
He told me that life at a state-owned enterprise was just a routine repetition, doing the same things every day without any challenges or sense of accomplishment. In contrast, the world of Idle Fish was full of uncertainty, but at least every day was new and exciting, and he could earn a living while having fun. I had to admire his courage to make such a big change in his middle age.
But I was still curious, what was the allure of Idle Fish that made him make such a choice? He told me that the world of Idle Fish was wonderful, with many opportunities and challenges. Every day, he could meet new customers, new products, and new stories. Although sometimes he would encounter difficult customers, most of the time he could feel happy and fulfilled.
After listening to him, I started thinking, why are more and more people willing to give up stable jobs to start businesses that seem so unstable? I think it's because people are increasingly valuing personal freedom and happiness, and are willing to pursue what they truly enjoy, even if it means facing more uncertainty.
Finally, I asked him if he would regret his choice in the future. He smiled and said that at least for now, he could live happily, earn a living, and do what he liked. Even if he encountered difficulties in the future, he wouldn't regret it, because he had already tasted the sweetness of freedom.
