Pride Month: Why China Doesn't Need It?
The whole world is celebrating Pride Month, with various activities and events being held in different countries and cities to promote pride and inclusivity. However, in China, it seems that there aren't any similar activities. Why is that?
It's because the concept of pride is not really compatible with the Chinese culture of humility. This culture of humility is deeply ingrained in China, where people are always taught to be humble and cautious, and not to be too proud of themselves. As a result, the concept of Pride Month has become a sensitive topic.
But we can't help but ask, what's the big deal about Pride Month? Why do Western countries place so much emphasis on this month? Actually, Pride Month originated in the United States in 1969, with the aim of commemorating the Stonewall riots, a movement where the LGBTQ+ community fought against police harassment. Since then, Pride Month has become a global event, aimed at promoting LGBTQ+ rights and inclusivity.
So, why doesn't China need Pride Month? The answer is simple: we already have our own culture and values. We don't need a specific month to promote pride and inclusivity, because these values are already deeply ingrained in our culture.
Of course, Pride Month is not a bad thing. It can help people better understand and accept the LGBTQ+ community, promoting social inclusivity and diversity. But for China, we have our own way of achieving these goals.
