Unemployed After Graduation: The Shadow of Class and Wealth Disparities
As a 22-year-old senior in Hefei, I'm worried about my future after graduation. My major makes me anxious about the possibility of unemployment, and my parents' divorce makes me feel hopeless about my prospects. They've both started new families, and I can no longer rely on their help, so I have to make it on my own. My goal is to save some money and live a better life.
I'm not alone in this struggle. Many girls face the same dilemma. Since the gap between the rich and the poor has grown, going to college seems to be more about meeting family expectations than finding a skill for ourselves. We're pushed into university not to learn how to make a living, but to save face for our families.
I often wonder, why can't we have more choices? Why do we have to follow a predetermined path? Why can't we make decisions about our own lives? These questions haunt me, but reality tells me I have to face this harsh truth.
The shadow of class and wealth disparities looms over our generation, and we must work hard to stand firm in this competitive society. We need more support and understanding, not just comfort and encouragement. We need real help and opportunities to make our dreams come true.
