The Fear of Unemployment after Graduation: The Impact of Class and Wealth Disparities
As a 22-year-old female university student in Hefei, I am facing the fear of unemployment after graduation. My major may not be the most popular, but I am still worried about finding a job. My parents are divorced and have started their own families, so I can no longer rely on them. Therefore, I hope to save some money to make my life better.
I am not the only university student facing this dilemma. Now, many female students are struggling with unemployment after graduation. The widening class and wealth disparities have led to more people attending university just to meet their family's expectations, rather than to acquire skills that can actually provide for themselves.
I think university education should foster our skills and abilities, rather than just providing a degree. We should be encouraged to explore our interests and passions, rather than being forced to follow a path laid out by others.
I hope that by sharing my concerns and feelings, I can raise awareness about this issue. We need to pay more attention to the employment problems of university students, and help them find real opportunities and resources, rather than just focusing on their academic qualifications and degrees.
