Chaotic Romance: The Unconventional Family Relationship of My Classmate's Uncle-Father
I have a middle school classmate whose family relationship is quite unusual. His mother is his biological mother, but his father is actually his uncle. Sounds confusing, doesn't it?
The reason behind this is as follows: his biological parents got married and had him soon after, but their happiness was short-lived. The couple got into a fight, and in a moment of desperation, the father drank pesticide and took his own life. This was in the 1980s, a time of scarcity and weak legal awareness. After the father's death, the two families sat down and decided to give the younger uncle, who was just a few years younger, to the older brother's family, and the uncle moved in with them.
The mother later had another son with the younger uncle, and the uncle raised the older brother's child as his own, but never allowed him to call him 'Dad,' only 'Uncle.' This is hard to understand, and it's difficult to comprehend how such a complex family relationship was maintained.
I think it's probably because of the societal environment and lack of legal awareness at the time that led to this unusual family relationship. In modern society, it's hard to imagine how such a relationship would be maintained. Perhaps that's why my classmate feels confused and embarrassed.
This family relationship is indeed complex and hard to understand. However, as outsiders, we might be able to see some things worth thinking about. For example, the importance of family relationships, the power of kinship, and the complexity of human nature.
