How to Identify a True Dimwit?
I'd like to share an interesting observation. If you want to judge whether someone is truly dim-witted, just see if they use isolated cases with low probability to refute common facts.
We all know that in life, there are always some people who like to use extreme examples to prove their points. For example, they might say, "I know a friend who smoked all his life and lived to be 100." Or, "I have a relative who never exercised and yet is in great health."
This mindset is quite fascinating. They always try to use individual cases to negate common sense and scientific facts. They seem to think that finding one counterexample can overturn an entire theory. This way of thinking is extremely narrow-minded and short-sighted.
In fact, science and common sense are conclusions drawn from a large amount of data and experiments. One or two individual cases cannot represent the entire rule. Smoking does increase the risk of lung cancer, and exercise is beneficial to health. These are conclusions proven by a large amount of research and data.
So, if you encounter someone who uses isolated cases with low probability to refute common facts, you can judge that they might not be very wise. Because they lack the ability to understand the basic principles of science and common sense.
