The Fascinating Elevator Culture of Hong Kong
Sometimes I really don't get Hong Kong - this city is always full of weird phenomena. For instance, our building has 7 to 8 elevators operating every morning and evening, and pressing the elevator button has become an integral part of our daily lives. In the morning when we go to work, everyone presses the elevator button and says good morning; in the evening when we get off work, we press the elevator button again and say goodbye.
I'm really curious about how this elevator culture came about. Do Hong Kong people really love elevators that much? Or is it just a habit in their lives? I also want to experience this elevator culture in Hong Kong and feel the rhythm of the locals' lives. Who knows, maybe I'll become an elevator fanatic too!
Of course, Hong Kong's elevator culture also makes me think of our own lives. We can learn from Hong Kong people and use elevators more often to reduce traffic congestion and improve our living efficiency. Or we can invent some new elevator culture to make our lives more diverse and interesting.
