A Shanghai Girl's Story of Perseverance: From Left-Behind Child to Medical Professional
I'm a 30-year-old girl from Shanghai, originally from Sichuan. I grew up with my grandparents and was a left-behind child. My family also has a younger brother, and my parents always favored him over me, never giving me any support. This family environment had a profound impact on my growth.
From junior high school onwards, I started working part-time during winter and summer breaks to save up for tuition and living expenses. My parents never provided me with any financial support, so I had to rely on my own efforts to achieve my dreams. This tough experience tempered my will and perseverance.
In college, I chose to major in medicine. My father was even involved in an accident, which almost made me drop out. But I didn't give up. I persisted, studied hard, and eventually graduated. Now, I'm a qualified medical professional with some knowledge of medicine, and I can help more people.
My story tells us that perseverance is the only way to success. Regardless of our family environment, our own efforts and perseverance are the most important things.
