I Wanted to Show Filial Piety, But Ended Up Getting 'Scammed' by My Mom
I got my paycheck and suddenly felt like showing some filial piety, so I transferred 1,000 yuan to my mom. That night, I couldn't sleep and ended up video calling her, only to be asked for 5,000 yuan in return, with tears in her eyes.
The next morning, I saw my mom's midnight post on social media: 'Remember, don't spend a poor person's money, it's worse than loan sharks...'
Her words made me laugh, and also made me realize that my 'filial piety' was just a slap in the face. It turns out that wanting to be filial to our parents can't just be a momentary impulse, but requires considering the actual situation and long-term planning.
I think many people are like me, seeing their paycheck and immediately thinking of transferring money to their parents as a way to show filial piety. However, we often overlook our parents' actual needs and financial situation.
My mom's social media post taught me that being filial to our parents is not just about giving money, but also about understanding their actual needs and feelings. Sometimes, appropriate help and support are more important than money.
This experience made me understand the true meaning of being filial to our parents, which is not just about giving money, but truly understanding and caring about their lives.
