Unemployed After Graduation: Finding Livelihood Skills in an Era of Widening Class Gaps
As a university graduate, I feel immense pressure. Due to my major, I'm worried about being unemployed after graduation, and this concern has been lingering. At the same time, my parents are divorced and have their own families, which means I can no longer rely on their support. Therefore, I hope to save some money and make my life better.
I'm not the only university student facing this dilemma. Many female graduates struggle to find jobs, and the widening class gap and wealth gap have made having a university degree no longer a guarantee of employment. Nowadays, many people attend university just to meet their family's expectations, rather than to find a skill that can truly support themselves.
In this context, I've started thinking about how to find a stable job and achieve economic independence. It's time to re-examine my professional skills and interests, and look for new opportunities and challenges. Perhaps we need to redefine what 'success' means, not just finding a job, but finding a job that makes us feel fulfilled and happy.
I hope that through my own efforts and struggles, I can find a good job and achieve my goals. At the same time, I also hope to help other university students who are facing the same difficulties, find their own direction and path.
