In Guangzhou's underground performance scene, there exists a group of individuals known as 'Improvisational Masters.' They have the ability to naturally convey themselves in front of the camera, quickly immersing themselves in the scene and bringing products to life with their stories. Their dance foundation is solid, and their movements are full of tension, making them the go-to partners for creative projects. Recently, I had the opportunity to meet one of these masters. Her name is Xixi, and she's a professional improvisational performer. Her expressive abilities are top-notch, and she can quickly adapt to different scenarios and roles. Her dance foundation is also extremely solid, with agile movements that are full of expression. I asked her, 'How do you manage to portray your characters so naturally?' She smiled and said, 'I think the key is to understand the story behind the character. I spend a lot of time researching the character, understanding their emotions, and imagining how they would react. Then, I naturally express those emotions.' I was surprised by the simplicity of her answer. However, as I continued to observe her performances, I realized that she truly did immerse herself in the characters. Every movement, every expression, was filled with emotion and storytelling. If you also want to become an improvisational master, my advice is to observe and practice more. Observe excellent performers, study their performance styles, and then practice your own performances, trying out different roles and scenarios.
