The Distortion of Emotions in the Adult World
It feels like growing up has tainted so many of our feelings. As kids, itchiness was just itchiness and pain was just pain, but now our perceptions of these sensations are somehow linked to sex. Why is that? Is it because we've been through too many social and cultural indoctrinations, or have we just developed too many desires and expectations?
I remember when I was younger, seeing a flower would make me think it was beautiful, and seeing a butterfly would make me think it was magical. Now, when I see these things, my mind starts to associate them with sex. Why do we do this? Is it because we've been taught to pursue beauty and sex, or is it because we have an innate desire for sex deep down?
As we grow older, we start to develop more desires and expectations. We want more money, more power, and more sex. But in the process, we lose a lot of our genuine feelings. We start to measure a person's worth by their sex appeal, and we measure success by wealth. We forget how to truly feel the world around us, and we forget how to truly love ourselves and others.
Maybe we need to re-examine our lives and find those lost genuine feelings again. Maybe we need to learn how to love ourselves, both body and soul. Only then can we truly find our own happiness and become truly happy.
