Unemployed Upon Graduation: A Reflection of the Class Divide
I'm a 22-year-old senior at a university in Hefei, and the pressure from my major is overwhelming. The fear of being unemployed after graduation has been weighing on my mind. My parents are divorced and have both started new families, so I can no longer rely on them for support. Therefore, I hope to save some money and make my life better.
The phenomenon of being unemployed upon graduation is becoming increasingly common. Especially since the class divide and wealth gap have grown, many people attend university just to meet their family's expectations, rather than to acquire skills that can support themselves. This phenomenon is lamentable.
I have many friends who are also university graduates, and they face the same dilemma. Some even need to take on multiple part-time jobs just to make ends meet. This situation leaves people feeling lost and desperate. We should be enjoying our university days, exploring our interests and dreams, but reality forces us to face the harsh job market.
I hope that through my own efforts, I can change this situation. Although the road ahead is uncertain, I still believe that as long as I work hard, I will find a path to success. At the same time, I also hope that university graduates like me can find their own direction and their own way out.
