An Awkward Encounter: The Delivery Rider's Hysteria and My Understanding
Last night, as I was turning right onto the inner road, I encountered the other driver blocking my way for a moment, just as I was passing the non-motorized vehicle lane. A delivery rider came speeding down the lane, honking his horn non-stop, and I quickly moved out of his way to avoid delaying his delivery. As I passed by, I heard him yelling at me from behind, "You idiot!" in a hysterical tone.
I just smiled and didn't get out of the car to confront him. I figured this guy must be struggling to make a living and was worried about being late and getting complaints. I'm a carefree person who doesn't worry about such things, so I let it go and chose to understand him instead.
I found this incident quite interesting. Delivery riders do face a lot of pressure, especially in time-sensitive industries. They have to complete their delivery tasks within a certain time frame, or they might face complaints and fines. So, when they encounter someone like me who's in their way, they might feel extremely frustrated and angry.
However, as an ordinary passerby, I think I should also try to understand their hardships and pressure. We all know that delivery riders have a tough job, facing various weather conditions, traffic congestion, and time pressure. So, when they show emotions, we can choose to understand and sympathize with them instead of fighting back.
This incident also made me think about other aspects of our lives. We often encounter things that make us feel uncomfortable or dissatisfied, but if we can choose to understand and sympathize instead of fighting back, we might avoid a lot of unnecessary conflicts and trouble.
