Snakes in the Flood: The Helplessness and Innocence of the Breeding Industry
Seeing many people scolding the Guangxi flood for causing snakes to escape from snake farms and bite people, I couldn't help but feel a sense of helplessness. First of all, isn't it obvious that snake farms are meant to raise snakes? And who would wish for a flood to come? I'm not saying I don't sympathize with those who were bitten by snakes or are afraid of them, it's just that I think this is similar to raising pigs or chickens - it's all part of the breeding industry.
The breeding industry is a normal business, and snake breeders are just trying to make a living. They didn't wish for the flood to come, and they certainly didn't want their snakes to escape and harm others. Floods are natural disasters that no one can predict or control. We should sympathize with the people affected by the disaster, rather than accusing the innocent breeders.
I think many people may not have had any experience with the breeding industry, and may not understand the living conditions of snake breeders. They may think that raising snakes is easy, but that's not the case. Raising snakes requires a lot of time, effort, and financial investment. Snake breeders also face many risks, such as snakes escaping, getting diseases, and dying.
I hope that through this flood, more people can understand the helplessness and innocence of the breeding industry. We should give them more sympathy and support, rather than accusations and insults.
