The Midnight 'Creak Creak' Sound: An Embarrassing yet Amusing Misunderstanding
As a bachelor, I was accustomed to the quietness of living alone. However, recently, the midnight 'creak creak' sound from upstairs kept breaking the silence. Accompanied by rapid breathing, I couldn't take it anymore and rushed upstairs to knock on the female tenant's door.
The door opened, and a beautiful woman in a tank top was covered in sweat. I said irritably, 'Can't you control yourself a bit? The noise is too loud!' The woman smiled awkwardly and explained that she had recently taken on a manual labor job, and the old sewing machine's belt was a bit loose, causing the creaking sound.
I had initially thought she was doing something 'unmentionable,' but it turned out to be so innocent. The woman continued to explain that her legs were cramping, and she wanted me to help her step on the pedal. I looked at her and thought she wasn't joking, so I went in.
As I stepped on the sewing machine's pedal, I realized how difficult it was to operate. The woman instructed me on how to step on it without making too much noise. I felt like an idiot for rushing into someone's home due to a misunderstanding.
After a while, the sewing machine's noise finally subsided. The woman smiled in satisfaction and thanked me for my help. I also smiled, thinking the whole situation was hilarious. We chatted for a bit and discovered that we were both single and only awake at midnight because of work.
From then on, we would often chat and share our lives. Although we didn't develop a romantic relationship, we became good friends. The midnight 'creak creak' sound became a joke between us, reminding us not to jump to conclusions about others.
