Credit Card Romance: Paying Off Debt for Love?
Last night, I went to a bar and had barely sat down when a beautiful woman approached me and asked directly: Do you have a girlfriend? I said: If I had a girlfriend, I wouldn't be here tonight. She smiled and said: Well, you can pursue me, but only if you help me pay off my credit card debt. I casually asked how much she owed, and she replied nonchalantly: Probably less than 300,000 yuan. She also told me that it wasn't just her, but many of her friends who were also deeply in debt from credit cards and online loans. My mind was filled with one thought: What if I really did pay off her debt, would she just dump me and move on to the next guy?
This phenomenon really makes me wonder. Has dating really become a matter of paying off debt for love? Are women really that materialistic? I think there must be more to it. Maybe they really need help, or maybe they just want to find a convenient way to solve their problems.
I don't know if this woman was sincere or just looking for a free debt repayment. But I do know that I shouldn't take such promises lightly. In my opinion, true love should be based on mutual understanding and respect, not material exchange.
I think this issue is worth reflecting on. How do we view this phenomenon? How do we face this materialistic dating culture? How do we find true love?
