My partner and I often argue when we're together. But we also know that if our arguments get too heated, they can escalate out of control. Just when things were about to get out of hand, I remembered our safe word and said, "Braised pork rice!" But what happened next caught me off guard. Instead of stopping and calming down, he responded with, "Fuck you!" I was shocked and hurt, and I thought our relationship might be on the verge of collapse.
