Kung Fu Girls: A Feast of Imagination and Innocence
My thoughts after watching 'Kung Fu Girls' left me in awe of the film's unique charm. At first, I was taken aback, wondering if I had become too out of touch with the times. The pace was frenetic, the dialogue exaggerated, and it all seemed a bit chaotic.
But when I heard the children in the cinema laughing and giggling, I suddenly understood. This film wasn't made for adults who have been worn down by reality, but for the imaginative, free-spirited, and creative child within each of us.
As we grow up, we learn rules, order, and logic, and we use reason to measure everything. Unbeknownst to us, we lose that simple, pure joy. We become more realistic, more practical, but also more dull.
From a filmmaking perspective, this movie might not score high, and some might even label it a bad film. But if this is the world according to Stephen Chow, it's still full of absurdity, passion, innocence, and imagination.
He hasn't changed. We have. We've become more mature, more rational, but we've lost that innocence and imagination. This film made me re-examine my life and wonder if I've lost that pure joy.
