The Secret of the Infraorbital Fold: The Relationship Between Kidney Qi and Muscle Elasticity
Have you ever noticed whether the area below your eyes, also known as the infraorbital fold, is plump and bright or flat? The state of this area can actually reflect our kidney qi and muscle control. A plump and bright infraorbital fold indicates that our muscles are well-controlled, which means our muscle elasticity is good. On the other hand, a flat infraorbital fold suggests that our muscle control is weaker.
So, what does it mean when the infraorbital fold turns dark? This is usually a sign of kidney qi depletion, leading to decreased muscle elasticity. People with strong kidney qi tend to have better muscle elasticity. Therefore, a dark infraorbital fold is often a result of rapid kidney qi depletion.
As we age, our muscle elasticity naturally declines, and our kidney qi weakens. This is a natural process of aging. So, how can we improve our kidney qi and muscle elasticity through exercise? Simply relying on strength training may have limited effects; we need to incorporate flexibility exercises to boost our kidney qi.
By observing and understanding the infraorbital fold, we can better recognize our body's condition and take corresponding measures to improve our kidney qi and muscle elasticity.
