Waking Up in the Middle of the Night to Discover My Girlfriend's Secret
I remember one time, I woke up in the middle of the night to find that my girlfriend wasn't by my side. My first reaction was that she had probably gone to the bathroom or to get a drink of water. But when I waited for a few minutes and she still hadn't returned, I started to feel a bit worried. So, I quietly got out of bed and went to look for her.
When I got to the balcony, I found her sitting there alone, surrounded by darkness, with only the light from her phone illuminating her face. In that instant, my mind went blank. I thought she might be chatting with another man and was afraid of being discovered, so she was hiding from me. This thought flashed through my mind, but I knew I couldn't let it control me.
I held my breath and crept up behind her. When I saw the screen of her phone, I felt like I'd fallen into an ice pit. My girlfriend was looking at my phone! I didn't know why she was doing this, whether she thought I had secrets I wasn't telling her, or if she just wanted to see what was on my phone.
I stood there, frozen for a few seconds, wanting to know why she was doing this. Then I asked her softly, "What are you doing?" She was startled, quickly turned off her phone, and turned around to face me, saying, "I was just looking at your phone to see if you were chatting with other women."
At that moment, my emotions were complex. On the one hand, I felt like she didn't trust me. On the other hand, I felt like she cared about me deeply. We both just stood there, unsure of what to do next. Later, we slowly discussed the issue and eventually came to an agreement: we had to trust each other and couldn't let small things make us suspect each other.
