Thanks to My Former Self Who Didn't Compromise Easily
Lately, I've been seeing people on the street who are working themselves to the bone, shouldering the burden of their entire family. Whenever I see them, I feel a deep sense of gratitude towards my former self. Why? Because back then, I stood firm against the pressure from my family to get married and have kids, and I didn't rush into marriage just to please others.
A few years ago, when the economy was booming, making money was relatively easy. But if I had compromised back then, I'd probably be in the same situation as many others today, with no choice but to face the pressure of mortgage, car loans, and living expenses that would leave me breathless.
I often see people who are busy running around to pay off their mortgages and car loans. They don't like their jobs, and they dare not stop or take a break, because they know that if they don't work hard, their family will fall apart, and their wife and children will leave them. Defaulting on their loans would mean losing everything.
So, I want to thank my former self who didn't compromise easily. Thanks to you, my former self, for not changing the course of my life due to pressure from others. Thanks to you, my former self, for not giving up on my dreams due to financial pressure.
