Want to Break Old Habits? Quitting Isn't Enough, You Need to Establish New Rules!
Lately, I've found myself stuck in a vicious cycle, wanting to break free from bad habits but failing to do so. Until one day, I had an epiphany: quitting isn't enough, I need to establish new rules!
I started thinking about what it means to 'establish'. I realized that it's about creating new habits and routines to replace the old ones. So, I started making a new plan, starting with regular exercise, walking 30 minutes a day, setting a fixed sleep schedule, avoiding my phone before bed, eating healthy food with less stimulation and more fiber, practicing mindfulness and breathing exercises, finding new hobbies, and replacing old triggers.
At first, I thought these changes would be hard to stick to, but I believed that if I could keep at it, I would see changes. So, every morning, I would go for a walk, eat a healthy lunch, practice mindfulness and breathing exercises at night, and read a book before bed instead of playing with my phone.
Gradually, I noticed significant changes in my body and mind. I no longer felt tired and anxious, but instead became more energetic and lively. I also found that I could control my emotions and desires better, no longer controlled by old habits.
If you also want to break free from old habits and start anew, remember: quitting isn't enough, you need to establish new rules!
