E-People and I-People: Which Type Are You?
Today, I stumbled upon a distinction between E-People and I-People that I found fascinating. This distinction isn't based on individual personalities or behaviors, but rather on how they derive energy from social interactions. This concept piqued my interest, as I've always wondered which type I am.
It turns out that E-People aren't necessarily those who are outgoing and talkative. True E-People are those who gain happiness and energy from chatting with others. They feel pleasure and satisfaction from socializing, and can even draw creativity and inspiration from it.
On the other hand, I-People aren't necessarily introverted or shy. True I-People are those who feel drained after interacting with others, and become exhausted. They feel anxious and despondent in social situations, and may even feel completely depleted.
This distinction has given me a lot to think about. As a social butterfly, I've always assumed I'm an E-Person, but now I'm starting to question whether I truly fit the bill. Maybe I'm just pretending to be an E-Person on the surface, while actually being an I-Person?
I've started reflecting on my past social experiences, and I realize that I do feel tired and tense in certain situations. Maybe I need to adjust my approach to socializing and find ways to recharge that work better for me.
