Hangzhou Library is awesome! Recently, a citizen complained that there were homeless people entering the library, and they couldn't accept this situation. However, the library's response was enlightening: I can't refuse them from coming to the library to read, but you have the right to choose to leave. Reading is not about being better than others, it's about distinguishing right from wrong. This sentence has been deeply ingrained in my mind. A library, as a public space, should be a place where everyone can enjoy reading and learning, not a private territory for certain individuals. I recall when I used to read, I would often encounter people who were different. Sometimes they didn't smell good, and sometimes their behavior was strange. But when I saw them reading, I knew that they, like me, were pursuing knowledge and wisdom. The library's response was not just an answer to the citizen's complaint, but a call to the entire society. It tells us that reading is not a symbol of status or a way to show off. Reading is simply about making ourselves better, wiser, and more compassionate. What's awesome about Hangzhou Library is not just its architecture and resources, but its ideology and values. It tells us that knowledge and wisdom are rights that everyone should enjoy, not privileges for certain individuals.
