It's Up to You to Ensure a Good Old Age
What's the worst thing that can happen to us as we age? It's not sudden death, but rather 'loss of independence' - being alive but unable to take care of ourselves. Every day, we rely on others, and our dignity slowly fades away. This is a concern for many, especially when we see our parents or elderly relatives struggling with their age and health, needing our care. It's then that we realize we'll eventually face the same situation.
Many of us are busy making money and advancing our careers, but we forget that our quality of life in old age largely depends on how we treat our bodies now. We often think that having more money can solve many problems, but the truth is, no amount of money can buy us health and dignity. We need to start taking care of our bodies, exercising, and maintaining our vitality to have a better life in our golden years.
Don't rely solely on your children for old-age care; take care of yourself first. We often assume our children will care for us, but they have their own lives and pressures. We can't put all our hopes on them. We need to learn self-management, self-care, and how to maintain our health and independence to truly have freedom and dignity in our old age.
