Where Did the Post-80s Go?
I've recently noticed a strange phenomenon: whether it's in the workplace or social circles, the people around me are mostly post-90s and post-00s. You might ask, since the post-80s aren't retired yet, how can they suddenly "disappear"?
I still remember when I was younger, the post-80s were our role models for learning and working. They were the beneficiaries of China's reform and opening-up, with unique growing experiences and worldviews. However, it seems that the post-80s have disappeared from our sight today. Where did they all go?
Perhaps we can start looking for answers in the workplace. Today's workplace has become the domain of the post-90s and post-00s. They are digital natives, with stronger tech capabilities and learning abilities. In comparison, the post-80s' work style and mindset seem outdated. No wonder they would choose to "retire".
But is this really the case? I couldn't help but think of some of my post-80s friends. They haven't "disappeared"; they've chosen more free-spirited careers and lifestyles. They might be freelancers, entrepreneurs, or full-time parents. Their lives may seem dull, but they're actually full of challenges and opportunities.
Perhaps we should redefine what "success" means. Success isn't just about career achievements; it also includes family happiness and personal growth. From this angle, the post-80s haven't "disappeared"; they've just chosen different life paths.
