Recently, I've received feedback from friends that they can't view my posts from before last year on my homepage. Unfortunately, I've also lost access to my previous content. This situation has left me feeling frustrated, as I'm used to 'excavating' my past through platforms like WeChat, Weibo, and Xiaohongshu. After investigating, I personally suspect that the 'only recent n years of dynamics are visible' feature is an intentional design choice by social media platform X. The reasons are twofold: first, to defend against AI-era data crawlers from other companies; second, to reduce server pressure, X has proactively archived historical cold databases. This approach indeed provides a poor user experience, and even creators can't view their own content. I've tolerated various inconveniences before, but when creation becomes a pursuit, a cyber-Alzheimer's disease... feeling the process of being passively 'erased,' I still feel frustrated. However, I'm not ready to leave this platform yet, as I've encountered all sorts of bizarre and wonderful things with my 'shadow identity.' To cope with this situation, I've decided to upgrade to a membership and download my personal historical data. Although I'm very laid-back about content operation and interaction, I'll make some changes: first, I'll select content I personally like or that has received high praise to feature in the 'Highlights' section of my homepage; second, I'll periodically collect story directories in the 'Articles' section at regular time intervals. You can then access the currently unavailable post content through hyperlinks.
