Is Your Competitive Edge Still Effective After 35?
Recently, many people have been discussing a pressing issue: why are more and more companies reluctant to hire people over 35? Many assume the answer is: 'older employees don't want to work overtime.' However, it's not that simple. Although overtime is indeed a part of many companies' cultures, it's not the primary reason.
The harsh reality is that after 35, many people's competitive strategies are no longer effective, losing out to younger individuals. Younger people possess stronger learning abilities, faster adaptability, and better innovation capabilities, making them more competitive in the workplace. At the same time, younger people are more willing to accept new things, more courageous in trying, and less afraid of failure β all key factors in achieving success in the workplace.
So, what can people over 35 do? Firstly, we need to acknowledge that our competitive strategies may be outdated. We need to learn new skills, new knowledge, and new working methods. Secondly, we need to change our way of thinking, becoming more open, flexible, and innovative. This requires effort and time, but if we don't change ourselves, we'll be left behind by the times.
Lastly, we need to recognize that workplace competition isn't just about age; it's about ability, attitude, and adaptability. As long as we maintain our passion for learning, our courage to challenge, and our innovative spirit, we can remain competitive at any age.
