Finding Your Best Self: 7 Secrets to a Better Life
Life gets better with time, but it's not about suddenly becoming a successful person. It's about the process of becoming better with each step. A friend of mine achieved financial freedom at 41 and told me that the secret to success lies in making yourself better, and there are patterns to follow. Here are seven secrets he learned through his experiences.
First, trust your intuition. If you feel someone is insincere or something feels off, stop and listen to your intuition. It's your soul's first signal, and it's often more reliable than your brain. Don't ignore it, or you might face consequences.
Second, your words are your path. A person's mouth can be poisonous, and their life can be bitter. Don't repeat your suffering or complain about your circumstances. Each time you do, you're telling yourself you're pitiful and need sympathy. Instead, tell yourself and others that you're doing well. Focus on the positive, and your body will follow.
Third, a person's appearance is a reflection of their heart. Your looks change every seven years, your complexion every seven days, and your aura every seven minutes. To look good, focus on having a good attitude and emotions. Most diseases are related to negative emotions. The key to good health is not about what you eat or drink but about nurturing your mindset and emotions.
Fourth, good fortune in middle age is the real deal. When you look at life from a broader perspective, good fortune after 40 is a late but genuine blessing. Those who become rich at a young age often can't sustain it. In middle age, you've experienced life's ups and downs, and you're more aware of the world and its rules. When good fortune comes, you'll be ready to handle it.
Fifth, you can have bad luck, but not a bad aura. People who judge others by appearance will ultimately lose. Your image and abilities are complementary β your image should precede your abilities. Otherwise, you might be underestimated. Of course, if your abilities are strong enough, this won't matter.
Sixth, outside of good fortune, your mindset determines everything. If your career, relationships, social life, and family aren't going well for three to five years, excluding external factors, the problem is likely with your mindset and behavior. True enlightenment isn't about suddenly gaining high-dimensional consciousness but about recognizing your mistakes. Only when you reconstruct your mindset and behavior will your life's trajectory change.
Seventh, fill in the gaps. If you lack confidence and motivation, try cooking and taking care of yourself. If you're introverted and cold, try nurturing plants and connecting with nature. If you're physically and mentally exhausted, try gardening. If you're indecisive and lack courage, try cutting your own hair or doing crafts. If you're easily irritated and distracted, try meditation and calligraphy. Look at yourself and see what you need to work on.
There's no overnight success. All progress is made in the small, daily things. By trusting your intuition, watching your words, nurturing your emotions, dressing well, correcting your mindset, and filling in the gaps, you're accumulating light for yourself. Time won't disappoint anyone who lives sincerely. As you move forward, the light will follow you.
