Why Do Some Twitter Posts Keep Reinventing the Wheel?
I've recently noticed an interesting phenomenon: some Twitter users keep reposting content that's already been circulating on Xiaohongshu or Weibo, and yet it still manages to go viral! What's behind this?
I've been thinking about this, and I reckon it's because these posts often share certain characteristics. For instance, many of them focus on everyday life or offer humorous observations. This type of content tends to resonate with people, making them feel like they're not alone.
Another reason, I think, is that Twitter's user demographics might differ from those of other platforms. Twitter users might skew younger, trendier, and more eager for fresh content. So, even if a post has been around for a while, it can still make a splash on Twitter.
Of course, this is just speculation, and the real reasons might be more complex β or I might be completely off the mark. Nevertheless, this phenomenon is intriguing and worth exploring.
