Recently, I've discovered that the various proofs required for marriage are comparable to the rigorous screening process for joining the military or civil service! I couldn't help but marvel at the fact that getting married also requires such a thorough 'qualification review'. Firstly, one needs to provide a report of eight infectious disease tests and a liver and kidney function test, which is simply to ensure the physical health of both parties. Then, one also needs to provide a certificate of no criminal record, a credit report from the People's Bank, a verification report from the academic credentials website, and proof of social insurance payment, among others. These proofs are simply to ensure the creditworthiness and social responsibility of both parties. What's even more interesting is that one also needs to provide proof of no criminal record from immediate family members and a declaration of being single/unmarried or proof of no marriage registration. These proofs are simply to ensure the family background and marital status of both parties. I couldn't help but wonder, what's the point of all these proofs? Do you really need such a thorough 'qualification review' to get married? Do love and marriage really need so many 'proofs'? I think these proofs might be to ensure the stability and security of both parties, but at the same time, they may also bring pressure and burden. So, how much 'qualification review' does one really need to get married? This is a question worth pondering.
