On Blocking and Respect: My Take on Clashing Views
I've been thinking about why some people choose to block me after a clash of opinions. I don't get it - why take it to that level just because we don't see eye to eye? To me, blocking isn't just about self-protection, it's also a form of avoidance.
I looked back at our interaction history, and we've never had any impolite exchanges. We just expressed our own views and tried to understand each other's perspectives. Is that what they mean by 'clashing'? I don't think so.
Of course, I know I may get blocked by many people. It doesn't feel great, but it won't change my mind or how I express myself. Because I believe respect is a two-way street.
I've had good interactions with everyone so far, and it's a shame to see this happen. Blocking doesn't solve anything; it just makes us miss out on more chances to understand each other.
