My Choice Not to Procreate: Breaking the Cycle of Suffering
The thought of not bringing more children into the world, and thereby reducing the number of beings that will suffer, fills me with a sense of redemption. This feeling stems from a simple logic: if I don't procreate, there will be fewer lives that will experience pain. This idea may be seen as negative, but for me, it's a source of liberation.
I often think about the countless generations of humans, from our ancestors to the infinite descendants that could have been, and the suffering that they would have endured. Every time I see unhappy lives, I involuntarily think: if only I could prevent these sufferings from happening, how wonderful that would be!
I know that some people may consider my decision selfish, but I couldn't deny that it gives my life meaning. By not procreating, I won't be adding more suffering to the world. It's a simple logic, but it brings me deep comfort.
I'm aware that some people may think my choice is wrong, saying that I should contribute more lives to society. But I couldn't change my mind. All I know is that not procreating is my choice, and it's my liberation.
