Marriage Is Not a Springboard for Life: Don't Blame Poverty on Marrying the Wrong Person
A woman cried out, 'Never marry a poor man.' This statement seems quite thought-provoking to me. But why is that?
I initially wanted to offer some sympathy, but the comment section was filled with sharp responses: 'Sister, your poverty isn't something the man brought upon you, it's just who you've always been.' Harsh words, but not entirely unreasonable. These commenters pointed out the crux of the issue, revealing a cruel reality: marriage is not a springboard for life, especially for women who put their hopes in others.
Not marrying a poor man doesn't mean rich men are lining up to marry you. Rich men never lack options, and even the foolish son of a wealthy family wouldn't be someone you'd consider. This statement is quite interesting, as the gap between rich and poor isn't just economic, but also a difference in mindset. Rich people usually have a broader perspective and stronger self-awareness, which is precisely what poor people lack.
Blaming your unhappy marriage or poverty on someone else, that's not a marriage problem, that's a mindset problem. This way of thinking is quite intriguing β people always tend to blame their failures and misfortunes on others or their environment, rather than reflecting on their own actions and choices.
Marriage is not your springboard for life. Don't use it as an excuse. Poverty is a personal problem, not a punishment for marrying the wrong person. These words may be direct and cruel, but they reveal a harsh reality: marriage is not a means of salvation, nor is it an opportunity to change your fate.
