VIP Interlopers: On Ambiguous Relationships Between Guys
Lately, I've been thinking about a question: why are some guys always able to effortlessly insert themselves into my social circle? They always seem to find opportunities to hang out with me and my friends, as if they have some kind of magnetic field that draws everyone's attention.
I thought of an example, a guy in my friend circle who always manages to find ways to play and chat with us. He's always friendly and humorous, as if he's a natural part of our group.
But one day, I suddenly realized that his behavior was actually a form of 'VIP interloping.' He always finds ways to hang out with us, but he never really understands us; he's only interested in our social network and relationships.
This made me feel a bit uncomfortable, and I started thinking about why people do this. Is it because they lack confidence and need to insert themselves into other people's social circles to feel validated? Or do they just want to expand their own social network and increase their influence?
I think it's probably a combination of both. Some people may indeed need to insert themselves into other people's social circles to gain validation and confidence, but at the same time, they may also want to expand their own social network and increase their influence.
But regardless of the reason, I think this behavior is unhealthy. It not only makes people feel uncomfortable, but it also undermines genuine social relationships. So, babes, if you want to get in touch with me, please give me a like first!
