A Bottle of Red Wine Sparks a Family Storm
My wife's sister was planning to move in with us for an extended period due to work, and my wife initially agreed. However, she later became dead set against it. I couldn't understand why her attitude had changed so suddenly. It wasn't until later that I found out what had happened between her sister and me.
Her sister had been staying with us for a while, saying it was closer to her new company and more convenient. My wife and I both thought it was okay, since she's family and it would be easier to take care of her. But soon, I started feeling uneasy. Every morning, I'd wake up to see her busy in the living room, and it made me feel a bit uncomfortable. So, on the weekend when my wife was working the night shift, I decided to find an opportunity to have a good chat with her sister. I ordered some takeout and opened our most expensive bottle of red wine, which cost over 1,600 yuan.
I thought it would be a great chance to bond with her sister, but it ended up sparking a family storm. Just a couple of days later, her sister was persuaded to leave by my wife. No matter how hard I tried to persuade my wife, she wouldn't listen... I felt really confused - why was she being so petty? It wasn't like her sister was drinking alone; I was drinking too! Was my wife really going to turn against me just because of that bottle of wine?
It wasn't until later that I realized my wife thought I was getting too close to her sister, and she suspected me of having feelings for her. But I think it was all just a misunderstanding - I only wanted to be friends with her sister. Now that I think about it, I feel really stupid for causing such a big storm over a bottle of wine. From now on, I'll definitely be more mindful of my actions and avoid hurting my wife's feelings due to my impulsiveness.
