The Helplessness of Insurance Sales: When the Whole Family is Covered
I have a friend whose wife decided to pursue a career in insurance sales. At first, she was full of enthusiasm and expectations. In the first month, she bought a life insurance policy for herself with a 30-year term. In the second month, she bought another policy for her husband, also with a 30-year term. In the third month, she continued this trend and bought a policy for their child, again with a 30-year term.
In the fourth month, she bought policies for her parents, each with a 30-year term. At this point, you might think she's a very responsible person who wants to ensure her whole family is covered. However, as time went on, she encountered an awkward problem: after covering her entire family, she couldn't find any new clients...
This put her in a difficult situation, as she needed to constantly find new clients to maintain her work performance. But she had already turned all her relatives and friends into clients, so what was she supposed to do next? She started feeling anxious and depressed, unsure of how to find new clients.
This story tells us that insurance sales, although seemingly simple, requires extremely strong sales and marketing skills. Salespeople need to constantly find new clients and persuade them to buy insurance products. At the same time, they need to have excellent communication and service skills to keep clients satisfied and retained.
