The Anxiety of Shanghai Girls: Low Pay, Family Illnesses, and Dating Pressure
As a former high school teacher turned secretary, I'm currently facing a salary that's less than ideal, which is causing me a lot of anxiety. To make matters worse, a close family member recently fell ill, adding to my worries and stress. It feels like the weight of life's responsibilities has suddenly fallen on my shoulders, and I'm not sure how to cope.
Lately, I've noticed that many girls in Shanghai seem to be struggling with similar issues. Some are eager to find high-paying jobs to better support their families, while others hope to find stable employment to alleviate their family's financial burdens. For me, however, the biggest challenge is finding a job that truly fulfills me in this environment.
I know I'm not the only Shanghai girl facing these difficulties. Through conversations with others, I've discovered a common thread: we all yearn for a job that makes us feel proud and satisfied. Yet, reality constantly throws us various challenges and pressures. Finding our direction and goals in such an environment seems to be a common puzzle we're all trying to solve.
