My Wife's 'Special Deal' with Plumber Old Wang
My wife frantically called her husband, who was away on a business trip: 'Honey, something's wrong! The pipes at home burst and water is everywhere!' Her urgent tone conveyed a sense of helplessness and anxiety. Of course, her husband was worried too, hoping she could resolve the issue quickly.
He hurriedly told her, 'Quickly ask Old Wang downstairs to help fix it!' He knew Old Wang was the maintenance expert in their neighborhood, and fixing a leaky pipe should be a piece of cake. His wife knew this too, so she quickly called Old Wang, who arrived promptly.
Half an hour later, she sent a message: 'Old Wang fixed it, but he didn't want any money. Instead, he asked me to agree to a 'special request' in exchange. He wanted me to either cook him a big meal or sing a song with him.' My wife was clearly hesitant, unsure of what to do. Although her husband was relieved, he couldn't help but tease her, asking, 'So, what did you choose? Cooking or singing?'
My wife paused for three seconds before responding in a playful tone, 'Honey, do you think I look like a singer or a chef?' Her answer was clearly a joke, dodging the question altogether. Her husband knew her personality and was aware that she wouldn't easily agree to Old Wang's 'special request.' He didn't press the issue, finding her response amusing instead.
