The Marriage Reality in Third- and Fourth-Tier Cities: Money and Beauty
The construction industry, with its fleets of trucks and loads of sand, is largely dominated by men who are, shall we say, not exactly the most attractive bunch. However, when it comes to marriage, it's often the women who are considered attractive who end up marrying for money. This phenomenon is particularly prevalent in third- and fourth-tier cities. As the saying goes, marriage is the graveyard of love, but in these cities, it's more like a transaction based on money and benefits.
When the rice is gone, women often look for compensation in the form of a handsome partner. This statement may sound a bit stereotypical, but it does reflect what some women are looking for in marriage. For many women, financial security is the top priority, and if their husband can't provide that, they may seek other forms of compensation, including physical attraction and charming personalities.
This phenomenon is not unique to third- and fourth-tier cities, but it is more pronounced here. The pace of life is slower, and people's values are more traditional. In this environment, people are more likely to view marriage as a social and economic arrangement rather than pure love. This mindset, to some extent, limits people's choices and expectations.
Of course, this phenomenon is not exclusive to third- and fourth-tier cities. Even in first-tier cities, people may view marriage as an investment or transaction. However, in third- and fourth-tier cities, this phenomenon is more widespread and noticeable. This may be due to differences in economic conditions, social environment, and cultural background.
